One month in, Amazon's Papillion drones have delivered about 6,000 packages. The company marked the milestone with a $10,000 donation to the Papillion La Vista Schools Foundation. Three items from Tuesday's meeting are still awaiting official word. The September 1 Council meeting included a first reading on a change of zone for "Schram 84" near S 84th St and Schram Rd (ORD. 2098, applicant McCune Development), a third-reading final vote on updates to the city's animal care ordinance (ORD. 2095), and a public hearing and vote on a preliminary plat for "Dowd's Business Park" near S 150th St and Shepard St (RES. R26-0165, applicant Jeffrey B. Farnham). As of this writing, the city hadn't yet posted minutes or results for any of the three. We'll report the outcomes once they're public.

🌳 Around Papillion
Papillion has a new piece of public art: a statue of Abraham Lincoln in City Park. The sculpture, built in about three months by sculptor Sutton Betti, ties the city's 1870s founding as a railroad town to Lincoln's role in launching the transcontinental railroad and shaping early Nebraska history. Mayor David Black said the city plans to add informational signage nearby. 3 News Now
Parks and Facilities Director Tony Gowan's retirement, previewed with a Council proclamation last month, is now official per the mayor's September newsletter, which also flagged the new Lincoln statue above. No successor has been named yet.
Voting closed Friday in Papillion's bid for Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Town of 2026. A judging panel makes the final call based on the city's spirit, tradition, and goodwill; the winning town hosts a future Hallmark holiday movie shoot, with the pick expected around Halloween. WOWT
